It's a bit difficult to make a direct comparison when they haven't played the same positions, but I wouldn't agree with the 'head and shoulders' comment. If looking at the LF role alone, I'd say Washbrook looks more like the modern LF but Whiting is the cleverer player.
Let's face it - either would be a huge improvement over Radford.
