I doubt Tomkins is on six figures but you can be sure Myler will be. We're best staying clear - the fee - the wage - the pressure on two young halfbacks is not worth it.
I very much doubt Myler willl demand 6 figures. He will of been on peanuts for quite some time at Salford I rekon but there is not way Wire would pay him that much, if they do then they are stupid.
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Any body hear the interview with John Wilkinson, seemed very down and acted as if he was resigned to Myler leaving, although he did say Offiah was the one pushing for bigger and better things not Richie. Wilkinson stated that the club made him a fantastic offer yet Offiah turned it down wanting to get Myler out of the club no matter what.
It seems very strange to me when listening that Offiah is the one calling all the shots and Myler is having little say, he didn't mention if any clubs had put an offer in, although he did state Myler was very much there player till the end of 2010, as if to say the club will make a point of keeping him till the end of it if needs be.
The feeling I got was Myler is leaving obviously, Salford are not happy about it, but where Richie is going is still unclear.
Wigan vs Leeds finals aggregate score.

With the greatest respect in the world to the lad, does it not show just how bad the SL has been at producing halves?
I think Myler is a good young player, but even if he maximises his potential he will never be world class. I think he has the potential to be a very good SL player maybe one of the best, but never in a month of Sundays will he ever in my opinion be regarded as World Class.
The hysteria over his signiture is verging on desperation when in truth he is in real terms on the World stage in my opinion he is far from worth it.
Before Salford/Wire fans come on here slating me i also do not think Sam Tomkins will ever be regarded as World Class, I think though he does have the potential to be, but it seems he is struck on remaining in SL with Wigan and the standard of comp will never maximise the lads potential sadly.

Some are saying it's a done deal that he's at Wire. In which case why hasn't it been announced? Maybe there's some paperwork to sort, and it's only a matter of time. But people have being saying it's a done deal at Wire for several weeks. If that's true, why is Offiah is still touting Myler around (which he is, I'm reliably informed)? Wire may be favourites to sign him, but I don't believe it's a done deal yet.

Not really in defence of Myler, but in reality to win superleague you don't need world class halfbacks as other clubs have illustrated, for me Sinfield is a good example of this, although not a halfback he's a very good superleague player and wins Leeds lots of matches, yet as we know on the international stage he is poor.
The most important thing for the team who sign Myler is that they dont pay over the odds for him.

I agree, its just further evidence of just how poor Sl is sadly though.
You can win Sl with several average players in key positions.
Myler could certainly be in a SL winning side and he could very well play an important part in that, but i see nothing in his game that will ever make him a world class player.
Eastmond in my opinion is a player who does potentially have World Class attributes to his game, that Myler lacks, namely his pace power and agility, but again he will never truely develop them in this league.
Its a real shame that we do not look inward as to why we fail to produce top class half backs rather than salivate over a good prospect who in truth will never in my opinion be anything more than a top domestic player.

Its truen both Saints and Leeds have many average players but still win super league and are consistantly the best teams. I am pretty sure that if a team got a full team of players with super league experience who are decent players and played the percentages well all season they could easily be in the top 3.

As Myler won't be coming to Wigan should we go for Ratchford as half back with Sam?
When we played Salford, Ratchford looked better than Myler with a more all round game.
Wigan lad too, as the club are looking to make itself "more Wigan".

I wouldnt complain with the signing of Ratchford although cant see Salford letting go two promising youngsters.

Played alongside him at St Pats, rejected by the Wigan acad, you think he'd play for the team after that?
Stay at Salford, plau Salford would be daft to let go, biggest talent in there team including Myler!!
