Perhaps it's psychological whereby fans feel there club must sign the lad because Rugby League's been through many years with out creating home grown halfacks and he may be the last. When in actuality quite a few clubs are starting to get them through, which is probably only the start.

But we know that youngster should be protected to some extent as not to allow them to think that they have made it in the big time and stop trying and lose enthusiasm.
He's a cocky little halfback with shed loads of talent. To me thats a perfect combination.
I think Offiah is the one doing the money grabbing tbh and we should make a bid for him but not on ridiculous money. If we can get him thats great but if not we'll move on.
The one thing thats needed with both Myler and Sam is that they need to stay grounded. If they get ahead of themselves they'll be heading for a massive fall.

Where are you getting this from? I spoke to an ex Wigan player just the other day, someone who is very much part of the current club, Myler is a done deal at Wire.

An ex Wigan player, currently at Wigan or Wire?

Just from the fact that Offiah came out and said the deal from Salford had been turned down. Salford said they don't know anything about Myler turning their new deal down.
To me Offiah is pushing for this move because he'd get a nice little cut for himself.

Could be reading it all wrong i suppose.
Think the bottom line is, and we're all guilty of it, is guessing a potential likelihood for Myler and what are the factors which could dictate his future.
But as by standers looking in, we only really get half the picture, so really we all have no idea.
The issue with Myler for me is that to sign him Wigan will probably have to offer him a bigger wage than Sam Tomkins which IMO would be unfair.
I doubt Tomkins is on six figures but you can be sure Myler will be. We're best staying clear - the fee - the wage - the pressure on two young halfbacks is not worth it.
