Seems to tie in nicely to allow them to sign Myler when out of contract.
Dave
But will they be able to wait that long if some other club offers a transfer fee?
Monaghan does seem destined to leave, and with all the rumours of Briers being on an outer maybe there have been developments which mean Myler is now not nailed on to head to them and they are looking at plan B.
Regards the Johnson story i dearly hope not! We do not need a backrow and we do not need an aging injuty prone centre! If we were to sign him i think it would smack of desperation at trying to put the Wigan back in Wigan RLFC.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

Thats what i thought.
Its obviously only a small part of it but he is a widnes lad given the choice of playing for your arch rivals or wigan, on the same money, i'd think he'd pick wigan.

Much as I like him as a person, he's definitely not what we need now. To be honest, I don't think he's ever really fulfilled his potential. He was regularly included on the list of Wigan youngsters who went on to do great things at other clubs, but that was only because it was in the interests of those drawing up the list to make it as long as possible. I'd only want Johno now if he came at so low a price that it didn't affect our other recruitment plans.

If Wire have agreed to sign Myler at the end of his current deal (18 months away) having made an offer to Salford to buy him now and discuss terms with the kid for a deal now surely Salford will feel a bit aggrieved that Wire aren't paying up?
They'll be able to sign him for free/minimum fee whilst had Salford said "no you can't discuss terms" Wire would have made an illegal approach to RM.

If Wire have arranged with Myler to take him for free at the end of next season, I find it difficult to believe that Salford have simply accepted this when other clubs will pay a transfer fee and take him at the end of this one.
It may be that Myler is so determined to go to Wire and nowhere else that he won't listen to any other offers - but that is highly unlikely when the other interested parties include Wigan and St Helens.
You really are an amateur by the standards of those we're normally used to on here.
Amateur and stupid.
Unfortunately, Eur0boy has lost all his RLFANS accounts including ''Happy Tom'' site-wide as he doesn't seem to grasp that he's banned on the Wigan froum.
No doubt it's all the harsh and power mad Wigan mods' fault.
