mr wilky was on radio manchester today ,and said " we know what we have to do and this stadium will be built by 2010 i hope he does not let us down
i know recently i for one have not been his biggest fan , but when you read the papers ,one minute were signing briers the next day were not interested , what are we supposed to believe , this is why i feel we must lobby the board to try to get a fan on the board , so that the said fan could keep us informed of what really is happening to also stop the rumour mill from gathering pace ,
mr wilky i will give you and the board my full support ,but please do not let me and our great fans down as we deserve better ,and keep us informed
keep the faith

smithy - I'm afraid that won't happen - the duty of a board of directors in a limited company guaranteed by shares (which is what "Salford Football Club Company (1914) Limited" is) is to safeguard the interests of the shareholders.
Now if you really want to know what is going on, raise some money, buy some shares and convince enough others to do the same to achieve a suitable majority to get voted on to the board - that's the only way you'll do it !

Let's say by miracles of miracles it's December 31st 2010. That's 18 months from now. 18 months to build a stadium. Is that actually possible, if they started tomorrow? Anyone? By this i mean not a "record breakers" program possibility but an ordinary building project and everything else that comes along with it (delays, etc...) kinda project.
It's just NOT going to happen so why does he continue to say that it will? He's making a rod for his own back (originally in a Guardian interview he said that the first game of 2009 would be in a new stadium). If i was a Salford fan, i'd be spitting chips and i know what it feels like - i've been there, done that with our East Stand and it still aint frikkin' built.

A 62 week build has been quoted many times , I have poured scorn on that many times
On a prepared level site with access roads already in and no delays you could just, only just build a stadium in 62 weeks
At barton as it is at present you would do well to get anything built in 2 - 21/2 years

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!
