Yep, but interesting to read it's been him contacting NRL clubs rather than the other way round.
If he got a gig with a team like Manly I'd be surprised.

He may also be contacting them due to the fact he's been told he wont be given a new contract, hope because we wont have Hock the club don't now offer him a new deal.

Wigan vs Leeds finals aggregate score.

Wigan 178 - 64 Leeds

Wigan wins - 6 Leeds wins - 0

His departure will open a quota spot for a top quality import!
Preferably a prop or half back!

There is no one good enough in this country other than Myler to take the place at half back so we must look overseas fora prop and a Half back.

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

I'm just bit worried about losing someone who appears to have experience a level head and probably commands respect in the changing room.

Granted he probably isn't worth the quota spot and i don't know his wages but if his replacement is another youngster, we'll soon be lacking experience and be a step further away from getting back the culture of the club as we have little players with experience to guide these new academy players.

By the looks of it in the next 2 years we could have Tomkins, Ainscough, Flanagan, Farrel, Mossop, Thornley and Davis either in the first team or pushing the bench spot. Thats a lot of inexperience. It's vital one of our next signings will be able to settle the changing room and guide these players from young lads playing rugby into professional sportsmen.

We need a player like Pongia, C.Smith or Lammy someone to really focus them and keep them from thinking that they have "made it". A new coach may be able to help but i think we need a player to do that.

I honestly believe O'Loughlin will be able to do this but another player to help wouldn't hurt.

The situation with Hock can't cloud the clubs judgment on Bailey. He isn't good enough and him being at the club next year will hold the 2 or 3 young players we have in his position back and we can't let that happen.

I'd still sign a replacment for Hock if one were available but Baileys place should go to Mossop, Farrell or Flanagan.

excellent news this - he must have been told we arent looking to extend his contract.

In the bad old days I would have said it was a ploy by the player's agent to whip up a bit of interest so uncle Mo would re-sign him on an even bigger contract

Agreed. We don't need Bailey. His age and his nationality are against him. I just hope this, along with the Hock fiasco, doesn't change the dynamic of our recruitment policy and means we now start looking for a second row instead of a prop or half. We've got the back-row covered among our own ranks already.
