Yep. We're all well known for it. After all, Salford's the only place in RL where people do drugs. Oh aye.

You do know that the street where your username namesake lives is based on a street in Salford, don't you? I'm sure even your slow brain could do the mathematics on that one.

I'm suprised Hock is the only to have tested positive to be honest, most people wouldnt believe how common it is amoungst players to use cocaine. Crazy particularly when you consider how much they have to potentially lose.

Same here...you could argue he's "unlucky" to actually be the one getting caught when there's plenty of others "allegedly" at it

Just to be clear i think he should have a tough penelty too. I was jsut finding it strange people were talking about chancing results from games.

There seems to be an attitude within all sports at the moment that if someone serves a 2 year ban they can come back into the fold. I would strongly disagree with that as if I were caught taking drugs other than medically prescribed I would lose my job as a teacher. There would be no second chance.

All top sports people in the course of their careers now have occasions when they come into contact with children and therefore should be treated in the same way as teachers or youth workers. It should be a lifetime ban!!!

An interesting point to note is in the Tour de France (where drugs have been a real problem for many years), for the last 3 years any cyclist who has tested positive during the race has not only been kicked out of the race and banned by th UCI but the race organisers have first informed the police and the cyclist and sometimes his team manager have been arrested.

I feel sorry for Hock and sorry for the bad publicity it will bring to the game. I think a two year ban is mandatory.

If Gareth Hock had been playing for Salford, we'd have beaten Wigan three times this season in my opinion. He'll be a big loss to Wigan AND England.

I can understand anyone being being tempted by drink, drugs, women gambling or any other vice you can name. Unfortunately as a professional sportman you don't get tested or banned for any of the others. I guess that is the meaning of addiction and why some guys carry on. Reason just flies out of the window.
