Simon Bissell is joining Cougars’ Co-operative Championship One rivals Blackpool Panthers on a month’s loan.
Prop forward Simon is a teacher who is based in Preston and his work commitments often make it difficult to West Yorkshire for training at Cougar Park.
Barry Eaton, the Cougars Head Coach, said: “We’ve agreed to let Simon go for a month just so that he can get some game time.
“Because of his work commitments he’s missed training with us and we couldn’t include him in the side.
“Simon is still part of our plans here at the Cougars but we need him to keep his fitness at the best possible level as we could call him back for the run into the play-offs.”
The Panthers have played Cougars four times already with two wins apiece. The Panthers beat Cougars in a pre-season friendly and the Northern Rail Cup while Keighley emerged as winners in both Championship One encounters.
Eaton will select the Cougars team to play Rochdale Hornets in a Championship One encounter at Cougar Park on Sunday (kick off 3.00pm) after training on Friday evening.
He will be selecting from a full strength team apart from prop Brendon Rawlins who is still stuck in Australia and back row forward Greg Nicholson, who is recovering from a slipped disc in his back.
“We’ll be working hard this week,” said Eaton, “because we want to get back to winning ways after that defeat at Dewsbury.
“Those players who aren’t selected for the first team will be on duty with the reserves that play at Barrow on Saturday.
“We need to keep as many players as possible to have regular game-time.”

find it a bit of a shame all this but if the circumstance are as they ate then keeping him fit can only be a good thing, seen too many players go on loan though and not return! Hope Simon isn't one of em.!

Never was a panther to start with so it would have to be bornpanther or perhaps with the crowds at fylde, lonelypanther or maybe even whyamiherewhathaveidonetodeservethispanther.
