I think he's making some sort of sleight as to the judgement of Griff. An inference that he would perhaps make the same sort of stupid mistake. Only Mutts will know for sure, but even then will have trouble expressing his views for obvious reasons.

the fact that there were rumours around him coming here a couple of months ago makes you wonder whether Wigan were trying to offload him before this broke without telling anyone. If that was the case they were being very , very naughty.
