This is what happens when you try to use google or some other kind of internet tool to dig up similar words to the one you want to use in some redundant attempt at trying to look clever.

I think he's making some sort of sleight as to the judgement of Griff. An inference that he would perhaps make the same sort of stupid mistake. Only Mutts will know for sure, but even then will have trouble expressing his views for obvious reasons.
