Brown has comfirmed this morning that Hull do want to sign Owen but have not made him an offer as yet.
Hi Paul, and fao everyone from Hull who post here.
I've obviously been to Hull many-a-time for rugby league, with Widnes and for Great Britain games.
But on recent trips to the city where I visit my girlfriend, I've noticed a huge amount of people in Liverpool shirts around. More than Hull, Leeds and Man U. Is Hull a Liverpool FC-supporting hotbed?

Unfortunately, despite the huge upturn in City's fortunes of recent, there is still a number of 'shirt-swappers' in Hull. Most of them supported Leeds (ugh) for a while, and over the years have more than likely sported Newcastle, Arsenal, Spurs and Manyoo shirts.
There is also a fair number who attached themselves to Liverpool in the 70's/80's and have never let go. Each to their own, and all that.
You've stolen my washing From out my back garden You've tarmacked my driveway Even though I said no You've nicked my lead flashing And weighed it in at the scrappy Oh St Helen's tatters Come rob me again

WTF? Surely if any now chose to support City after their "huge upturn in fortune" *snigger* that would make them a "shirt-swapper"?

Didn't realise he's only 29.
Seen the reports of it, but no idea what they've put in it. I agree it's bizarre, and I think the fact that they feel the need to do something like that speaks volumes. Who would have thought 5 years ago that Hull City would potentially be the best offer Michael Owen would receive at this stage of his career?

I've just read in the paper that he'll be on €40k a week plus €30k for every game he plays and another €10k for every goal.

On the subject of shirts, am I alone in owning multiple clubs' shirts at various times, whilst not actually considering myself a fan of any of them? Since I've never had any solid allegiance to any football team, I've chosen them on a whim for several reasons; players I like, shirts I like, teams where I admire the brand of football they play. As a result I've had shirts of Man Utd, Everton, West Ham, Newcastle, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Lazio, Ajax, and St Etienne. Then there's international, where I've had England, Brazil, and Holland.
May have been linked to me working in a sports shop in my teens as well though.

Still a risk, but at least approaching sensible, I suppose. I can't see too many willing to offer him better terms either. Bloody hell, it might happen.
