it bloody isnt like any other city its a horrible place so many people got robbed have to watch your back everywere u go. saw it for myself match day

from personal experiece... you get offered illegal subastances in every city... including manchester where i live at the moment... we have had a great time... we are still here... and the city is brilliant... first time i have been here and would definitely come again, locals very welcoming, result considering we have had a perfect weekend... you get bellends everywhere and as long as you are sensible you can have a brilliant time...
to p.s. the catalans v czech republic game, although one sided, was brilliant... all in all... a good time was had by all :p

i have just read all the other replies... seriously must we be impervious to crime? had a brilliant weekend, would definitely do it again, but would advise bringing more aftersun this time, i resemble a lobster atm...

agreed... i dont want to sound biased but thought it was chuffing brilliant, minus the sunburn and the stupid amounts af money spent on a metro ticket that we hardly used :p

1 Fella was robbed of 300 Euros and my brother got jumped and robbed of his camera.

Nice City & Great Weekend but they really need to sort out the Crime.

The problem is a large group of (more than likely) drunk people is going to be an easy target for those who want to commit such crimes because after a drink or two you let your guard down a bit more. Even being on holiday tends to mean your more relaxed and let your guard down therefore leaving you slightly more at risk.

I have visted Barecelona once at never saw any trouble, my parents have been 4 times now and have only experienced one (relatively small) incident of pick pocketing. But as has been said over and over it is a big city problem, and especially a big city with a lot of tourists problem.

Guy I met was lucky on Friday. He had two prostitutes on his arm and he felt one of them dip into his pocket where his phone was. Luckily, she missed and picked up a packet of tomato sauce and then gave up. Eventually he got rid of them but it was a lucky escape.

(Dont ask, I only met the guy out there.)

Heard loads of trouble, and had plenty of Africans on Rambles wanted a piece of me. And my phone, camera, money etc. But all you had to do was walk straight past them and dont make eye contact. I kept all my valuables in buttoned up or zip up pockets and as a result I didnt get anything nicked and had a great time. Even after leaving Cheers vexed up at 4am.

There was a thread here before we went. We knew how rough it was (although the aggressive 'prostitutes' were slightly more aggressive than I thought and clearly had no interest in enticing you, and simply wanted to rob you).

Overall, it wasn;t actually as bad as I expected. We was around the Ramblas all the time, and whilst it was intimidating at times, we kept our wits about us and was ok.

I thought it was a brilliant weekend, and would love to go back, and think the Magic Weekend there was brilliant.

Main disappointment was that the Wire fans seemed to leave the ground straight after the match, when there was a great atmosphere round the beer and food tents, where thousands of Catalans fans stayed until a couple of hours afterwards...
