Rather bag snatching than being kicked to death or glassed in the face in our town. Like people are saying above, people don't take the care they do at home whilst on holiday because they are relaxed and criminally minded people take advantage of it. However when confronted they normally back off ( I chased a bag snatcher in Salou a few years back who ripped off a bag that was left under a table in a bar and after a few hundred yards he threw the bag away and carried on running). If you did that in say, London, you would end up with a knife in the ribs.

I was on a bus there once and got up as it was approaching my stop. One of these scum bags got up in front of me as if he was looking for his stop. He was actually stopping me directly next to his accomplice who then tried to get into my bum-bag which was concealed under my shirt. Luckily, I felt his hand and gave him daggers. He then pretended that he was tapping me to tell me to shove the other bloke out of the way so I could get off the bus.
Have your wits about you at all times and stay together in tourist areas.
I'll guarantee there will be a thread on here next week about those that have been robbed, probably the "it's worse in Manchester" brigade.

Where do you suggest I keep my valuables when all I am wearing is a t shirt and shorts. As I said it was concealed under my shirt and all my money was on the inside pocket.

Superb game, bad organisation at the ground , also not safe on travel. Witnessed 2 pick pockets , luckily one bloke got his wallet back , lad nearly got killed

Barcelona not unlike many a big city around the world. I've been there half-a-dozen times all but one incident-free. Last time I had my wallet stolen myself, but no big deal after you cancel your credit cards on the phone. Lost about €100 but got it back off travel insurance. Can't let the few bad apples spoil all the great things that Barcelona has to offer.

barca is a top place but going down ramblas friday night is danger!! getting felt up and then getting mugged. seen a mugging happen and looks stupid luckily though there was police nearby
