I'm not even sure it was the M.E.N now...Didn't sound like what i read. Warrington was certainly mentioned in the first sub point.
nope, it was.
Quote:Didn't so much say main interested party. Stated Wire in market for half back and with Briers possibly going to Barrow, Myler is of interest. As I am sure he is for other clubs too...stated Salford can demand up to the 400k
Quote:M.E.N. The teenage sensation is being lined up by Warrington Wolves to replace Lee Briers for next season.
With Briers seemingly set to join Barrow, Warrington will be in the market for a top-class half-back and they have been closely monitoring Myler’s form.
Myler remains under contract with Salford and Reds could demand a transfer fee in the region of £400,000 should they decide to cash in on their prize asset.
Well i don't see any other team being mentioned, so that could suggest that we are a significant party. I don't think i was a great amount off the mark.

I honestly cant see Saints offering £250k for him with our options at half back. The wire story holds more weight, but £400k seems very high for a 19yr old. £200k is a realistic amout after his season so far. What may keep his price down is the lack of competition you may have for him. Wigan have tompkins, Saints have Eastmond or Smith, Leeds have Burrow (still relatively young), Hull have signed Long, KR have Dobson, any other move is not really better than Salford. So Yourselves and Salford may come to some arrangement.

Why don't you just swap is Eastmond for Myler? I'd be happy with it

And thats why the £250k deal is rubbish, we may offer say £20k plus Eastmond (1 is proven, 1 has potential) but i doubt even that. Mr T is class enough for Saints i think. I pity the fool who doubts it!

Sounds accurate as regards Saints, but the Pies have historically compromised their own youngsters when they've sniffed out at another club someone who seems better than the lads they've got. £400k is too much, but when competitive bids get going, common sense doesn't last long. It would not surprise me at all if the Pies get Myler, or at least force Wire to pay over the odds.
