What a lot of people don't realise is that Alves has half decent BJJ himself (apart from getting tapped by Spencer Fisher). A big question is whether or not GSP can take Alves down, Hughes and Koscheck have both failed to do so. If that happens we could see Alves causing an upset KO win, we've seen that GSP has a glassjaw in the Serra fight.
Can you see Bisping doing the business against Hendo?
I think Bisping can do Henderson and hopefully he will do.

I hope he can although i don't think boxing at range like he did against Leben wil work. Henderson will come forward all fight, for me its whether Bisping can match him in the clinch.... Technically Bisping is the better striker but i don't think he has as much power as Hendo. Heart is ruling my head so i reckon Bisping on a split decision
UFC 105 is in Manchester is it not? Any ideas of the line up?

There's some confusion about that. They're apparently doing a fight night show in the UK on October 10th (which of course me and you won't be going to ) and UFC 105 on November 14th. Nobody seems to know which will be in Newcastle and which will be in Manchester, although apparently these are the venues chosen.
If UFC 105 is in Manchester I hope to attend my first UFC event. The card is set to feature Anderson Silva v Bisping/Hendo. Also, Dan Hardy is bound to be on the card, I'd like to see him tested again against the likes of Kampmann or Condit.

I think GSP is far too fast and dominant to lose to Thiago. I don't think GSP will knock him out, it will go all 5, but I reckon GSP will just wear him down and dominate throughout. GSP just doesn't get dominated so if Thiago is to win, he's gonna have to try and catch GSP by surprise in the stand up, something I don't think GSP will allow.

Alves' is one of the best fighters in the world when it comes to takedown defence, he does have the ability to make GSP stand and slug it out, and Alves has the advantage with his leg kicks and unorthadox striking.
GSP will wear him down eventually by using his size to lean on him and wear him out (ala BJ Penn) and take a decision IMO.

A top show last night again.
I didn't think I'd see a better fight than Franklin/Silva from last week for quite a while, but Sanchez v Guida was amazing. The judges got the result right on this one, and Sanchez may trouble Penn with his wrestling and much improved striking.
The judges got the decision in the Pearson v Winner fight badly wrong. Winner controlled the entire fight in the clinch up against the cage, and I had him winning 30-27. There is no way anyone could have thought Pearson won the fight. I reckon after the show Winner will go further in the UFC than Pearson does.
James Wilkes was the sleeper of the season this year. We got this with Nate Diaz in season 5, he didn't get much TV time and just kind of appeared from nowhere and won it. He showed some great Jiu Jitsu skills and I was shocked that he beat Demarques who was my favourite from when I first saw the list of fighters before I'd seen an episode.
The judging lately is really winding me up, especially in something as big as the TUF final you would hope they could get it correct. It's been said constantly on MMA forums, but they NEED to look at other methods rather than the 10 point must system, it simply does not work for MMA.

your right it was a great show! Sanchez v Guida fight was great, Guida has a chin of stone, i think with most over fighters that fight would have been over in the first round a few times.
Wilkes just out classed on the night, really looked like a seasoned fighter, he was cool and calm.
the judging has always been something of a hit or miss to me. i see it as a bit or a daft system because in the end who ever seems to have throw the most punches and made it look a bit exiting gets the win even if someone has been working the ground really well all fight.
I submit to you that if a man hasn't discovered something that he will die for, he isn't fit to live.

Went to the last Badcompany show in Leeds Town Hall.
Great day out.
They have regular fight nights near me in Workington quite often and apparently they're pretty good. One of the fighters, Martin Thompson, is surely only one win away from getting a UFC contract after knocking out Tengiz Tedoraze and Colin Robinson in quick times in his last two big fights.
