well after a nights sleep i am a bit more chilled.
That however must be our worst performance of the season.
Salford and Hull were bad but there we were just making mistakes dropping the ball ie things you cannot legislate for.
Yesterday we just seemed clueless. Wrong options or usually a lack of options. When Robbo made his break there were two players outside him but in such a short space he could do nothing and when he did pass the ball it was dropped.
Our poor kicking one from Moore and a couple of high kicks from Robbo stand out. Our last tackle options were poor particularly when we ran it twice when there was no gap at all and we just gifted possession to cas.
There were a lack of dummy runners on a lot of plays. Best seen when Hodgson in the second half ran across the line and just went past our players with no one trying to run an angle or give him an option until Fulton woke up and ran back inside.
There were two many changes i think in the centre which would appear to be partly contributed to by Nathan Browns team selection. I would also suggest the players like Eorl and Kirmond are better of the bench whilst Raleigh is better starting.
Who was calling the plays
Brown, Robinson, Hodgson, Moore, faiumu
Who was playing at first reciever etc. Players looked out of position and we were having to throw long passes to find the player who was supposed to be running the play.
The other thing is that we need better decision making when we make a break. They need to decide when to take a risk and when to look for the support player. Confidence seems to be shot and we look for the support player when they should go for it and visa versa.
Our passing WTF. A lesson for training today would be Run with ball, look at player you will pass to, OPEN EYES then pass. kevin Brown and Brett Hodgson please take note.
A lot of our passing was too slow ( a problem we have had for a couple of years).
What were the good points. Commitment and work rate was good after the first twenty minutes, Discipline was good, cudjoe did well on the wing. Robbo looked for very lively and we did not drop too much ball. Whatuira knows how to commit a defender and always looks to to be trying something.
The best positive however is that the SKY shot sof Nathan Browns face suggests that the players will work hard this week and you can guarantee that we will be better next week.
