Most likely. But the dire performances will happen again. Consistently we haven't performed week in week out is the point I was trying to get at. No the games against Stains and Wakefield and Salford etc weren't one off results but they weren't consistent results.

I would bring in LMS to replace Prescott who would go out on loan and bring in Morley to replace Coley.

LMS nad Palea'aesina impact. Ooooouch!
TBH a prop similar to Morley would IMO bring out the best in Stuart Fielden again, Fielden clearly makes more yards when all our forwards are on top form attacking wise (less defense etc etc). With a front row with what you suggested, I can see that happening quite often.

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Same with Lockyer, people criticise his defence but how tough is the NRL? He isn't Queensland 6 and Aus 6 for nothing and with Lockers and Gleeson either side of him I think he would do ok.
I am not overly convinced with Griffin, he has potential and takes the ball in hard with plenty aggression, I would take him on loan for the rest of the year and if he does well at a big club then offer him terms.
Also make an offer to Briscoe.
I believe with those players and Smith, Coley, Bailey, Phelps, Pryce (Loan), Flanagan (Loan), Prescott (Loan), Goulding (Loan). McIllorum (Month to month loan).
Kearney as coach, the signings of LMS, Morley, Lockyer and Briscoe would be brilliant
Sadly there is very little chance of this happening.
Morley will most likely not leave Dire, even if he came to us him and Fielden would take a massive chunk of the cap, especially if we signed Lockyer as well we would have a high percentage of our cap on just 3 players. Neither are going to happen unfortunately. LMS is also under contract and will at least see out his contract there IMO he will most likely replace Fielden at the end of 2010. Briscoe would be a really good signing but he is on a fairly long term deal at HKR and would require a good lump to bring him back to Wigan, whilst I think IL would put his hand in his pocket I don't see him doing it for a player in a position that isn't top of the priority list for us at the moment.
For me we need to sort the coaching staff out first. Get rid of Noble bring in Kearney with Faz and Pongia as his assistants. We would then have the pride, passion and respect back in the club then we should let them bring in the players that they want, 2 props and a top half back preferably. Maybe even persuade Kiwi players in the NRL to jump ship.

He isn't the sort of blokle to rush by the looks of him and i'd doubt we've made a decision on a coach for next year yet, made any signings yet or sorted out whats happening with the kit sponsorship.
It'll all be rushed through in the last couple of weeks before the season starts imo.

We would still lack a prop forward and I wonder how much Sean O'loughlin would have improved if Trent Barrett was still here.
The guy though would have papered over the cracks for another season for sure. He is state of origin class - one of the best halfbacks in the world and it was a pleasure to watch him but while he was there we were not a team. We were Trent Barrett plus 16 other players. It sounds harsh and disrespectful but effectively we were.

If we still had Trent we would be a good 6+ points better off IMO. He was that good for us and most definitely papered over the cracks.
If we didn't have Trent for 2007 and 2008 Noble would not be in a job now IMO
I doubt we will even consider looking for a fullback when we have Amos Roberts , Pat Richards and Sean Ainscough at the club. Unless Roberts gets homesick or we decide to release Sean Ainscough one of those players will have to play fullback.
Although many are I am not against the recruitment of Amos Roberts. At the time we had released Calderwood and Colbon and needed a winger as Sean Ainscough had not played a single game of super league and it would have been advisable to play him for a full season. So a winger was needed but my concern was the length of the contract we gave to Amos Roberts. 4 years. That simply is too young with the knowledge that we had a promising winger in the reserves in Sean Ainscough.
