Yep i am, I used to go to every single match home and away and look forward to it from the beginning of the week no matter if we were playing PNG or St Helens, this year i've been to all home matches, a few away and cant say i have enjoyed any of them TBH.
Used to be amazing watching the likes of Farrell, Rads, Connolly, Dallas, Lam O'Connor, Smith, Cowie, Cassidy, Betts, Paul, Carney, Renouf, week in week out, every player from 1-17 had so much passion and cared so much about winning...these days it just seems to be Hock Lockers and Sam and Ainscough when they get a game.
It used to be devestating losing to teams like Salford or Wakefield every now and then but you just knew the week after the team who we played were in for a beating but now its more like..can we scrape a win against Harlequins at home in a month for the next win
Wigan RL has lost its 'erection' so to say. For me a team is built on passionate players who want to play for the club and no what it means, with a few class internationals thrown in the mix to spice it up... we have some of the passionate players in Lockers, Hock, Tomkins, Ainscough who reflect what Farrell, Rads, Newton, Betts etc brought to the team but can we compare Riddell, Roberts, Phelps, Smith, Bailey to Lam, Renouf, Dallas, Paul, Smith etc? Or Coley and Fielden to O'Connor and Cowie?
