Drogba?
Ronaldo is class – simple as. Some of what he does is just poetry.
But then he has the ability to really make you laugh at him – as in the derby at Old Trafford the season before this one just gone, when he was petulantly glaring at the pitch and then at the skies: blaming everything for having a poor day at the office.
"Class" ... now Cantona reeked of it. Not only one of the best players I've had the pleasure of seeing, but also one that I always liked immensely, not least because of his attitude, his completely surreal comments etc. The "sardines" comment remains brilliant. Eric had class and style. God, I even tried to get a "Wanted for treason against king Eric" t-shirt after he drop-kicked that nasty little fascist git at Selhurst Park.
In 2007, he apparently said, "I have a lot of good moments, but the one I prefer is when I kicked the hooligan."
"You are working for Satan." Kirkstaller
"Dare to know!" Immanuel Kant
"Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive" Elbert Hubbard
"We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." Oscar Wilde

That's nearly as ridiculous as the condemnation Ronaldo got for supposedly getting Rooney sent off in the Portugal-England game.
Just reading Cantona's wikipedia page. Punching team mates, kicking the ball into the crowd, ripping off his shirt when subbed, insulting his national team coach on TV, throwing his boots in a team mates face, throwing the ball at a ref, calling members of the disciplinary committee idiots.
That's even before he got himself sent off and decided to attack a fan who was abusing him as he trudged off the field.
He had as much class as Joey Barton. And if he hadn't been made by Manchester United, he'd have been regarded as being just as bad as him.

Now, I hear you need to sort your loan out soon, we could help you with the signing of Torres.
Working with kopites as i do, when i was informed about the bid being submitted and accepted i replied "Torres bid for united then".

Cantona and class? Surely an oxymoron. The guy smacked a fellow player and dropped kicked a fan! Hardly acts of 'class'.

He was trained at Leeds though. I suspect his subsequent behaviour was a backlash against being bored to death by Howard 'Interesting' Wilkinson.

If IIRC his first game in this country was in a Sheff Wed shirt.
