Oh, I think the little imbecile is referring to some of the surnames of England players not being very 'traditional' English names.
Of course, he doesn't help himself by using 'European' where he means 'English', which merely illustrates ignorance.
And presumably he doesn't realise that this island nation of ours has had immigrants coming here and settling for years. So those with names that confuse him could well be second or third generation. Thus more than qualified to play for the England team.
Surely that can't be his 'point' though? After all, given that the Australian team clearly has substantial numbers of players in it that are themselves immigrants or are descended from immigrants (that'll be all of them, then), it would seem an odd observation.
What he's trying to get at is anyone's guess. Mine would be that ... actually, I haven't a clue what's going on in his excuse for a brain.

World Cup 1966 winners honoured
Quote:The players and staff of England's 1966 World Cup-winning squad who did not get medals have now received them after a ceremony at 10 Downing Street. Initially, only the 11 players on the pitch at the end of the 4-2 final win over West Germany received medals. But governing body Fifa is now giving medals to every non-playing squad and staff member from every World Cup-winning country from 1930 to 1974.
