Shame that i am going to miss out on a curry because i am supporting the boys by going to Dewsbury, they can hear you better in the flesh rather than from fifteen or so miles away shouting at a screen. The ten pounds spent could have been used for entrance fee :? I still hope it go's well, it is the second best thing to being at dewsbury (money behind the bar and all that)

some people work late or have family commitments and maybe can't afford the time to get there,so getting down to cougar park is next best thing as I fall in to the above that particular night, spoke to Helen yesterday and she said that 45 were booked in, thursdaynight isn't good for quite a few by the looks of things.

45 booked in.
Thats just about a coach load of fans, that could maybe go and watch the game over there.

Wasn't there some mention, of the club trying to get a coach or two so people could go to watch the game?

I like a lot of things the club is doing, but i must admit this isn't a good idea.

I think it would have been better. To try and get as many people as possible to go to the game.

This is a great chance to show people that the two clubs have good support, home and away.

Lets really hope the when the return game happens, Dewsbury do not do anything to keep there fans at there ground.

More positivity there then I see....

The whole point of the exercise is that the club is open for all those who can't get to Dewsbury on a Thursday Night , through work & other commitments .

I'm lucky my boss has been great and is allowing me to go when I need to in order to get to the game ( bearing in mind I wouldn't normally be done till 6pm at the earliest ) but my other half who has yet to miss a match this year is unable to do the same and will be happily trundling along to watch the game at CP , no doubt consuming copius amounts of alcohol in the process, all good profit for the club.

Yes putting a bus on would have been great , but this does not alter the fact that most of those watching back at the club , would still have been watching the game on Sky regardless of there being a bus or not.Far better that the club takes the chance to put a few quid in the coffers and make an 'occasion' of it .

that's the point I was trying to make Rachel, I know what your saying jim but think the club have been pro active on this occasion, I'm sure those who are going to curry night have a valid reason for not going so at least they can put some money in the clubs coffers this way.

Great way to stifle debate Rach.

Sorry but believe it or not, people me included do not have to say everything the club does is great.

Rach my point exactly. A bus could leave at 6.45 and still get to Dewsbury in time for the kick off. So people who are working late could still have seen the game.
Some people are always going to miss a game because of work that can happen on a Sunday.

There is a much bigger 'occasion' coming up. That's the return game at home against Dewsbury.
Now lets say we made the effort, as a club to get one or maybe two coach's.
Maybe just maybe Dewsbury could have been persuaded to do the same.

If we did the same deal as Dewsbury are doing
90 people paying £10 to watch the game= £900
Never mind how much more those people would spend in the bar.

How much money will the people having the curry, going to have to put in to get that return?

If Dewsbury who have been very proactive for this game. Decide to try and keep there fans at there ground to watch the game. How much will we as a club stand to lose.

And more important than that, is how the ground looks when the SKY cameras are there.

i know it depends on what type of job you have but I would have thought with a bit of forward planning (This fixture was after all decided many months ago) that many people could plan around in those months in between, myself included who tends to work late most days, but planned accordingly for this one. Usually, where there is a will there is a way.

Well there isn't a home game until the 28th June so I assume that the pitch will have been grassed/turfed where the soccer players have worn it away.

And if it has been dry perhaps a hosepipe or two may not go amiss in keeping the dust down.

Sorry for being "NEGATIVE" again

See both points of view here, but being a supporter who goes to both home and away games, sky or not i would still be going to Dewsbury like the usual bunch and i'd like to think a good few more, come on Cougars!
