Many of the points on here are indicative of why the team are getting thumped. My aquaintance, who played Academy/reserves a couple of seasons ago (at another club) has said despite signing a contract he doesn't think he'll bother any more. He says he's only missed a couple of training sessions due to work commitments yet not even been on the bench despite the poor results and the coaches saying everyone will get a chance. He was one of just NINE who turned up for training prior to the blank weekend a couple of weeks ago and still didn't get a shirt the following week, as the coaches seem to have their own favourites who are in come what may. As previously stated, when they do train its been poorly organised. And results and performances (York away excepted) suggest quite frankly some are not up to the required standard.
So as interest drops off from the lads who turn up for training but don't play, and the exodus from the first team continues you have to ask if the reserves will fulfil their fixtures?
As predicted on 18th May. Personally I dont think they'll play another fixture, I saw this coming a mile off. The local lads are far more likely to play for the shirt than the lads from outside tha area, although now with the exodus from the 1st team taking place some of them are getting selected, (and thats with absolute respect to bigjohn lad and a couple of others who are still willing to continue).

I have no idea why your mate has not played a reserve game, that is something he needs to discuss with the coaching staff.
All i can say is thank god that Donny decided to run a reserve side this season otherwise what would the first team have done for players?
I disagree that the local lads are more likely to play for a shirt as many of the regular attenders at training sessions have been players travelling 300 miles a week at their own expense to play for the Dons. Hopefully this mess at the club will soon be sorted so the reserves can continue with their fixtures and youth development.

He's stopped going fella, says he's wasted enough time and trouble turning up without getting an opportunity. Shame cos of the lack of players forcing todays postponement, but he's a bit stubborn and said feck 'em he aint going back.
Cant blame him really, says he's going to ask for a trial with Sheffield Eagles next season.

Gargoyle you are a joke Your so called mate has not attended training for weeks and he was not very good at best. The reserves could have put a team out tonight but was advised not to do so because of the circumstances of going in to administration.
if you are a genuine fan then you would suport the club instead of making stupid comments. Stick to cricket you need each other

I hope your mate makes the grade, I really do..
But.. Dedication and a good attitude, is what most clubs look for from a player..

That is not what it says at the top of the thread, is it?
So, 'Winger', do you know who my mate and I are? And if you do (which I doubt) why not reveal yourself by PM? And you think he's not very good at best (although how you could possibly judge that as he's not actually been selected) then please enlighten us all how you came to that conclusion, as he has played 2 seasons at this level already in better sides than the current Doncaster one.
I've been a fan for years, and it saddens me that it has (once again!) come to this.
As for the rest of your post its being treat with the contempt it deserves, as personal name calling/abuse is usually the sign of very limited mentality or a lost argument.

Yes he knows and appreciates what it takes but you can only be p155ed about for so long before you call it a day, and he's not the only one one of my other mates has quit the set up as well for similar reasons.
Its a shame as without reserve fixtures to blood players or give 1st teamers returning from injury matchtime the 1st team is always going to struggle irrespective of the financial situation.
Good luck to the rest of the lads, hope it pans out alright for them in the long run.

You must admit Gargoyle the situation with your mate not been selected even when training seems a little strange in view of the reserves recently losing players to injury, 1st team etc. Maybe he is telling you little stories about turning up for training regularly. In view of the fact that the team are young and inexperienced it doesnt make sense that your mate who you say has experience at this level has never played, just wondering why he isnt still playing for one of the better sides you mentioned and opted to come to the Dons in the first place if he has so much to offer and wanted to progress
