Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS
We have missed out on the perfect signing for Wigan in terms of prop forwards - Petero Civoniceva. He was off contract at the start of the year and has signed a new deal with Penrith IIRC.
He would have been ideal for our young pack.

He has played for Austrailia and Queensland for many years consistantly, he is recognised as one of the world's best props, he would cost so much on the cap, we would have to get rid of Fielden to get someone as demanding as that IMO.

34 as well. Though he is still a top class player.

Maybe having goulding part of any deal could work in our benifit..Not sure what the amount that would knock off any bid.
Why is everyone so arrogant in thinking Myler would simply sign for us over anyone? Or Orford for that matter?
Far too often (in recent times) has a Wigan team been carried by one man (Barrett, Farrell, Dobson etc) - Yes we are crying out for a good 7, but thats all he has to be - good. Good enough that he works well within the squad, good enough to lead us around the park in the backs, good enough so that Sam can work well with him and form a very good partnership.
I'd personally class Rob Burrow as a good player, nothing more, nothing less. He isn't world class - him and McGuire are neither world class, they just compliment each others game extremely well.
And it showed, when during the world cup they were broken apart. They looked average at best. Sam/Luelaui need a parter who compliments their game and they compliment back.
Wigan need a long lasting half back partnership, I'd 100% go in for Myler if he became available - even if he didn't I 100% would still go for him. Whats the harm in putting an offer in? Test the water so to speak. If it comes off it comes off, we're all happy - if it doesn't we've still got time to find a half-back in time for the pre-season.

And probably wouldn't have signed Mathers, Millard, Withers and Noble might have gone. Oh and we'd probably have given more of the youngsters a chance to come through

Noble wouldn't of gone IMO. He came to Wigan to help save us from relegation - which he did. Even if we did get relegated I reckon he would of stuck with us.
