If Offiah reckons we should be offering a kings ransom to Myler to keep him maybe we need to ensure that any clubs who come in with an offer for him have to pay a kings ransom to obtain his early release from a legally binding contact with 18 months yet to run.
If the worst case scenario did occur and he left does any transfer revenue go towards the salary cap for next season as surely then that would considerably bump up what we have to spend on his replacement (meaning it would have to be an Aussie as no fee's seem to be involved any longer from the NRL). I would hate to see him go but if looked at it from that point of view a very good replacement could be sourced.

I'm not sure which I'll be sick of hearing/reading most come the end of the month: Myler going to Warrington or Cristiano Ronaldo going to Real Madrid.

As long as he plays with 100% commitment to the Reds until he leaves unlike that ham shanker c*ley, I've no problems other than it would prove the franchise system over here wouldn't be working as all and sundry would still want to play for leeds/saints/wigan..
What does worry me is saints have dropped long like a hot potato, presumably they have another bun in the oven for the next ten years and I doubt eastmond is that bun..
The fans, the members, the people there.. from the day I stepped foot onto that field at the AJ Bell Stadium,I knew I would love that club for the rest of my life. "Jackson Hastings"..

The whole idea of the salary cap was to give a level playing field and stop the so called big clubs buying all the talent.
The problem is that in the UK this is not the case.
It depends on attendances, revenue etc which means the big clubs still have more monet to spend than the likes of ourselves.
In Oz every club has a cap of 3 million dollars no matter whether you get 50K attendances or 12K.
This is why you see a lot of the top players coming over here whilst still in their prime. They can still get a good wedge at clubs like Wigan,St Helens, Leeds etc.
Why cant we have a system where all clubs have the same Salary Cap?

We do don't we? I thought you were allowed to spend up to the full cap now regardless of turnover. It's just that some clubs (like us) can't afford to do so.

Didn't they change the rules this season so it is the same for all £1.6 million I believe, but we choose not to spend up that cap as essentially we can't afford it?

OK if that is the case then it needs to be looked into.
1.6 on wages for a club like Wigan is easy.
They should look at what clubs can afford and make it a level playing field.
It seems that the RFL have thought Oz have a cap of 3 Million exxchange rate is around 2 so lets half it and use that in the UK
Anyone know where the figure of 1.6 comes from ?

I've not posted anything on the Warrington board, because, as I said, its just a rumour. I was just wondering if anyone on here had heard anything?
Wire very keen and happy to pay a 6 figure transfer fee. If Salford wait a year they will get ony 10% of that.
Hull were having a serious sniff of Turner but now they have signed Tansey that will cool.
A player from Salford is called up to a GB/England team...
and ends up paying for that coach's SL team!
has this happened before?
