pie eater and proud of it wrote:Hi,

Can anyone tell me which stands are in the shade on an afternoon match ?

As you know we play your good friends, W********n in the cup at your ground and I want to avoid having to hold my hand in front of my eyes for 3 hours if I can.

Thanks.

are you for real - did you not go to school?

the sun rises in the east and sets in the west and seen as we are in the northern hemisphere we all crave south facing gardens for days full of sunshine. therefore, the south stand will be completey covered in shade.

and given the time of kick off you can pretty much guarantee the west stand will be in the shade.

He asked a civil question. No need for your sarcasm.

I echo Manx sentiments, he was only asking?

an atmosphere that isn't created by people in matching shirts clapping along to a drum or novelty PA music might be nice!

Your sentence is followed by a question mark, which implies that you were asking a question when you are infact pointing something out. For statements such as these I would recommend a full stop or indeed an exclamation mark.

Unless you're an Aussie or an American, whom end every sentence with a 'high rise terminal'. I'm no prescriptivist but that irritates the poop out of me, especially when I hear English people starting to do it. :?

Little Pepe went to nursery school one day wearing his Widnes hat. His teacher asked him why he was a Widnes fan. He said, “Because my parents are.” His teacher said, “That’s not good. What would you do if your parents were drug dealers and hookers?” He replied, “Well then I would be a Warrington fan.”

There's a Wooly over there, baggy kecks and feathered hair
with a 3 star jumper half way up his back, that’s a fecking Wooly back!

Apparantly it was caused by the popularity of programmes like Neighbours and Home and Away.

Let's be honest lads. We're not posh nonces. No one here can really take the high ground on "proper" pronunciation and grammar as we all talk gutter and that's the best way to have it.

Language nazis are freaks.

Let's leave the "queens english" nonsense and the "soup spoon" nonsense and the "eating dinner at tea time" nonsense to the upper class pillocks and move on.
