I wasn't saying that at all. Nolan is better than Ashbee, so he's an improvement on what you currently have. It's also good for us because Nolan isn't very good and is exactly the type of player we don't need, allowing us to bring in someone with a bit of pace.

Not the case IMO. The defence was OK but the midfield and strikeforce were really poor. Newcastle's midfield was superior to hull's however it was still pretty dire and as Ash has said Nolan was a huge contributor. Not the player he once was (a huge theme throughout Newcastle's squad).
