That thought also crossed my mind. Long term because Hicks and Riley are both on contract for next year it tends to suggest the exit of Penny and possibly Johnson.

Unless Hicks injury is far worse than being broadcast.
The same reason Hull FC want a 33 year old Long when they already have Thomas Lee, Richard Horne, Danny Washbrook, Chris Thorman, Richard Whiting and Shaun Berrigan probably.

Just about to say the same thing.
If this Carney signing is indeed the one that Tache mentioned then it was way before Hicks picked up his injury, the Carney signing is puzzling me somewhat, he's 33, has his fair share of injury's and we have move than enough people to play on the wing.

Hull haven't had a good SH since Tony Smith.
Warrington have got good wingers.

I would think that this will be either a signing until the end of the season, or on a mtch by match basis. We sold a centre, sacked a fullback/winger, and signed a fullback, so we have 1 space available in the backs. Carney will fill it until the end of the season. It gives us more cover, and if it doesn't work, then we haven't really lost a lot.

We didn't replace Gleeson and Penny out on loan that's 2 places in the backs up for replacements using my maths !
I would say Carney is an excellent signing strong and fast and if Tony Smith wants him who are we mere mortals to argue with it !
