It's funny because the said Hull fan was jubilant, over the moon in fact that his club had signed Sean Long, yet I can see that he is an over aged, no doubt over paid player who has been snapped up by Hull in a panic driven recruitment drive. Add him to a long list of similar players because let's be fair, the club you follow does make a habit of signing such players.
He is an improvement on Thorman, that I have no doubt, he is british which is also a bonus, but a decent signing all round at this stage of his career, no.

My dog playing would be an improvement on Thorman.

Decent He is better than decent, he is a very good player still and proves in most weeks at Saints, he would be the first choice SH at every SL club baring Rovers and Leeds now.
I think i will take Potters and the Saints fans who watch him every week over yours.

As you wish, it's all about opinions I guess and with the season you're having I suppose a dug up Thora Hird would be a welcome addition at scrum half.

Saints board:

Not sure if wheeler and eastmond would make good halfback partner for pryce.
We need a ball playing 7 who can move us round the pitch and control the game.
It's shame long didn't do 1 more year.
Hull FC board:

Hull have signed 2 OAPs for next year.
It's big risk but IMO saints did rite in letting long go.
A change of club may do him some good. He still better than what you got at moment though.
If you check the stats for Long from 2003 - 2008, it shows a clear steady decline.
As said, was decent once, but not anymore.
