Andy Greg wrote:Well Wigan have 10,000 season ticket holders and wire must have 8,000 and as its a local derby and on a weekend in the Afternoon i would thing there would be at least 15,000 coming if not more according to the Widnes site there ground holds 13.500 so logicality it need to be played at a bigger ground. Attendances and season ticket sales have gone up since 2004 Would not like to go to saints ground not easy to get to the Reebok is the one they should go for easy access by road and train.

Wait and see. The attendance will be nowhere near that.

I wonder if the luck of the Irish will be with us?

Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

LA is the place to be wrote:why not look at the reebok stadium... 25,000 seater stadium and would be a cracker of a atmosphere as im sure te rfl would be confident of seelin it out

Could play both semis on the same day back to back at the Reebok and it still wouldn't sell out.

At some point in the near future the RFL will announce the venue (probably Wierdness) and there will be an outcry from fans of both clubs. Come match day there will still be plenty of empty seats in the stadium. Déjà vu.

Eddie Hemmings said not wrote:"Remember last time they were here, the Huddersfield Giants, they lost to a Luke Walsh drop goal. He's only scored four drop goals in his St Helens career has Luke Walsh and each and every one of them have been scored by Luke Walsh"

Well there were 10,218 at the HJ when we played Catalan and i am sure Warrington will bring more than Catalan did. If we cant get 8,000 to a weekend game and you cant get 6,000 then its time to give up. And that totals 14,000 which is 500 more than the Widnes ground holds.

[quote="Coops"]Both semis are a repeat of 2004 when our game was played at Widnes and the other match was at our ground and I can't see why that would change for this year.

One thing I know is it won't be at the JJB as Big Stu has said someone has mentioned.[/quote

bit of a brain storm there juust got up meant the reebok

Report from 2004. I can't find the attendance figure but I think it was less than 10k as the Wigan supporters didn't bother turning up, report mentions 6k Warrington which isn't massive either.

Its not an easy ground to get to is it for either set of fans not a lot of parking and the station is a long way away from the ground. Be brought a good 8,000 to the HJ the other year for a semi difference is how easy it is to get to a ground

we took more to that semi final than the dragons did, and wigan fans moaned like love that we were sticking our noses in rather than trying to fill a gap, OR heaven forbid talk up and promote a big game

The point that i am trying to make is that we took about 8,000 to that game if you play it at a ground thats got easy access by rail and road you get a bigger attendance. and if its played at the Reebok there should be at least 16,000 on.
And it was great to see so many Wire fans at that game if you ask me i might support Wigan but i love Rugby League and if we dont have a game on a Saturday or Sunday i do go to watch other teams as a neutral best sport in the world

According to today's League Express both Semi-Final's could be played at Widnes but a final decision will be made on Wednesday.
