I had forgotten about those, oh the joy of a replay in Whitehaven on a cold February Tuesday, those were the days

So what about a Golden Try rule? This makes the teams work with skill and forces defences to be at their best. Give them 15 minutes instead of just 10. The coin toss to see who starts the game is a fair way of doing it or go Rock Paper Scissors!!!!

not often i agree with one of the 70 million + kr fans out there but a golden try would be much fairer way to settle the game

Yeah, I thought yesterday that it suddenly becomes a drop goal comp. We are lucky in Briers that we have somebody who is pretty good at it (although he made hard work of it yesterday!) but not everybody does and it shifts the focus away from tries which is what Rl is all about.

It is very interesting and exciting, and the forwards battle always comes to the forefront during this period (the reason we won was the two props we had), but I'd rather have seen them play for 10, giving KR the chance to come back at us.

Golden try is a nice idea. makes it more competitive than 5 drives in centre field and shaping for the drop goal.

5. Wigan
6. Huddersfield

I agree with this, except I'd make it a silver point- if one team is up after the first "half" of extra time, it's all over. I might go for 15 minute halves of extra time too.

Yes and you can use your 18th and 19th Men?

I would say Golden Try for the first 10 minutes of extra time. If any points other than a try are scored then they count after the 10 minutes. If no points are scored after 10 minutes have been played then go onto Golden point.

I might have heard something.

What about some sort of silver point system?

Where once you've scored your point, the other team have 2 minutes or so to get a point of their own.

If they do, you start the whole process again.
If not, you win.
