This person started the same topic on the Wigan forum. Seems more likely that the said person his a Wigan supporter and should return to that forum rather than seeking to stir up trouble here.

The self righteous supporters from other clubs should perhaps take a little time out to think what Coley could have done to engender such antipathy. Other players such as Hodgson, Haggerty and Korkidas left the club and are not held in the same low regard as Coley.

It may well be the case that others from the squad of 2007 just played out their time until the season was over. Sadly, for Coley he made it pretty clear from his on field demeanour that that was what he was doing.

His in action was a significant contribution to the relegation of the club that year and who knows where that may have led to. Thank god we now have franchising and such selfish actions of players can't relegate a team. There were no consequences for Coley for his abject, disinterested performances but there were for the club. At least now if such a situation was ever to happen again such a player's contract could be terminated immediately. Instead of hanging on to him in the vain hope that he might have sufficient moral fibre to see out his contract in a professional manner.

It is a hard pill to swallow but unbelievably true.

Some people really need to get a life  . The chants may have been OTT but a LOT of Salford fans still bear a great deal of ill feeling towards Coley for his enexcusable behaviour after years of great service at our club. If he'd have left as Hodgy, Korky etc did he would have left as arguably one of our greatest players of the last 20-30 years. Instead, he very nearly ruined our club along with others (Robinson etc) therefore in my eyes he is a complete and utter lover. Everyone knows that the chant is not meant literally but it is merely a way of showing how strongly some fans feel. FWIW, I would have preferred those fans to save their energy to back the team but each to their own. But for people to come on here ranting as they are is quite frankly pathetic.

They are words and words only. Do these holier-than-thou fans have the same opinion about players who perform acts of thuggery on a Rugby field? No, I thought not as it's all done in the heat of the moment therfore a few punches here and there are acceptable. Surely that's setting more of a bad example to youngsters in the crowd than swearing?

'Great Britains waterboy' is a much better chant than 'die die coley.'

coley needs to show salford some respect as it was us that got him out of playing for swinton, if it wasnt for us he would never have even played super league, anyway i wonder which club he will be a next year cause i very much doubt wigan will keep him on !!

I doubt that very much. Coley undoubtedly has talent as we saw at times when he played for us - his work ethic is obviously questionable though. If we hadn't signed him from Swinton somebody else would have eventually.

The self righteous Wigan fans, people who support a Club that cheated to avoid relegation, have breeched the salary cap three times that we are aware, how many more times did that not get caught. whoes coach can tap up a player whilst on international water carrying in Australia. A club that with only one song "bang bang bang........
Coley took a wage for a year from our club and just didn't turn up for most games, he caused disruption in the camp and was a catalast in our relegation, Wigan are cheats is a fact now lets look forward to next week and hopefully a fair ref, just hope Coley breaks a leg in training :P
