This person started the same topic on the Wigan forum. Seems more likely that the said person his a Wigan supporter and should return to that forum rather than seeking to stir up trouble here.
The self righteous supporters from other clubs should perhaps take a little time out to think what Coley could have done to engender such antipathy. Other players such as Hodgson, Haggerty and Korkidas left the club and are not held in the same low regard as Coley.
It may well be the case that others from the squad of 2007 just played out their time until the season was over. Sadly, for Coley he made it pretty clear from his on field demeanour that that was what he was doing.
His in action was a significant contribution to the relegation of the club that year and who knows where that may have led to. Thank god we now have franchising and such selfish actions of players can't relegate a team. There were no consequences for Coley for his abject, disinterested performances but there were for the club. At least now if such a situation was ever to happen again such a player's contract could be terminated immediately. Instead of hanging on to him in the vain hope that he might have sufficient moral fibre to see out his contract in a professional manner.
