We need a 7 and 10. They have to be of top quality, if Dobson is OOC at KR we need to offer him a chance to return, on proper money this time, not on the cheap as so many of our signings.
Long, Why? Where is the long term planning in that given his injury record.
Myler - as good as he may be, our fans are to impatient, and would not wait for he and Sam to develop.
Orford - World class in every sense, good injury record and whilst getting on, is a better player than long.
Orford & O'Meley for me.
Long is proven in the SL Orford isn't. He may be a 'fair weather' player, or he may miss Aus too much, all these problems aren't applicable to Long. Better signing.
Sign Long and Myler, I explained my reasonings for this and for Tomkins at FB earlier in this thread.

BTW O'Meley will never get back to his rep days, thats just wishful thinking.
I don't think many people can be watching O'Meley on this site. They are all expecting the same O Meley from the bulldogs.

What other options do we have at the moment. We need a top class half he is one and available. We cannot sadly generate top class halves out of thin air. Orford would be a stop gap but it would allow us time to continue to develop our our players or bring in a good young player such as Myler who could be brought through to replace him in 2 years time. Trying to develop Tomkins and Myler at the same time as lead halves could cause more harm than good and rarely leads to success.

Precisely what im trying to say. The descriptions ive read of O'Meley on here have been laughable, im beginning to wonder whether we are talking about the same player, because i havent seen him play that well all season.

Regards O'Meley i think the 2 ref system has affeted his game he simply is not suited to the pace of the game. Do not think it will be an issue with SL at the moment which is why i think we will be a good signing if it comes off despite his form at the Roosters.

Im not doubting he would be good in Superleague, so would many other poor past it NRL players.

That's the sad thing about it all. people believe what they want to believe and it's easier for them to think we're getting a top class rep standard prop than what O'Meley is today.
I keep hearing Orfords name, but how many watch him play often? he'd be an unknown in SL.

No thanks.
Not in the same class as Orford and older. Orford is the style of half that would go very well over here in my opinion, he is more workman like, is not afraid to get stuck in, organises and leads his team around the pitch very well.
Long leads his team around the field very well, but his performances have significantly decreased over the last few years, he has spent more time injured and his passing game has become increasingly erratic. Orford may never improve as a player but he certainly will not deteriorate over the space of a 2 year contract at the same rate as Long seems to be.

Completely disagree.
And looking at your comments about orford and o meley I question how much you watch them play.
