Cullen was a positive chapter in the club's history. We were an absolute shambles when he took over and the team he inherited was the poorest I've ever seen. (And trust me that takes some doing.) From there he took us to the play offs in the next season - that Wigan game being one of the most memorable moments for many a season up to that point.
Over his tenure we on the whole played exciting rugby and had some highs such as the Leeds game in the play offs and many others. He just couldn't take us that extra step to consistent and sustained success.
Most managerial careers end in failure but on the whole I wouldn't tag Cullen a failure - he just couldn't match up to the high expectations. The fact we had them in the first place is testament to the job he did.
