Bold prediction - infact similar one has being made in the last 2 off-season, we'll wait and see me thinks

Us real fans don't look over our shoulder at our neighbours and do whatever we can to get one over on them. We look at the bigger picture. And this is the reason why Rovers are and will forever be considered a small club. Because their fans and board would rather get one over on Hull FC above anything else.
Quite sad, really!
SPOT ON!

He's not been as pi$$ed off as he is now though, makes a big difference.

I'M SURE THERE IS NO CORRELATION BETWEEN THE FACT THAT THE FRONT RUNNERS FOR THE 2009 MEDIA WHINGING AWARD ARE FROM GATESHEAD AND HULL FC, FORMERLY THE B*ST*RD-TWINS OF ONE OF RUGBY LEAGUE'S LOUSIER IDEAS.

I know, but it was worth a shot.

Are you having a laugh? No way is Lee a better hooker than Fisher. In the case of Houghton, at the moment I personally think Fisher has a better "all round game" but as we all know, Houghton is still young and learning his trade. Providing he gets some better coaching, I do however, think in the long run he will become a better hooker than the Fish. This is no disrespect to Fisher, because as Nick said he is very under rated in SL, and I always prefer our play when we have Fisher on the field.

Thats what i call season upon season progression.
11th and 7th has been fantastic, top 6 this season will be wonderful.

Houghton is a dummy-half scooter and nothing much more at this point.
Fisher has far superior distribution off the floor and a better defensive technique than Houghton.
It's all well being diplomatic with our cross-city rivals but the harsh reality that the reason why they will finish bottom-four this season is because they have some players who are no way as good as their fans think they are; I mean at the start of the season, I had to refrain from commenting on the brain dead know-it-all's who had the likes of Tickle and Radford ahead of Galea in their joint Rovers/FC combined 17's - nothing more than a joke really.
Of course there are some variables as Raynor, Berrigan & Manu are class players who would get into our 17 but the rest are average at best.
Of course FC fans will disagree, but my comments/quotes will be vindicated by a 12 - 16 point difference between the two teams come the end of the season and then Mrs Barista will no doubt move my quotes to her recycle bin...
Some interesting responses to an interesting question. I believe we are top four material, indeed, I think the top two is not beyond us. Look how the season has so far panned out.
We are already ahead of what we achieved last season.
By that I mean we have had victories we never gained last term. Saints away, Wigan away, Hull away, Harlequins away, Wakefield home. Of course, we also gained an extra point at Odsal but that has been overturned by a point lost at home to Huddersfield with whom we drew last year.
However, providing we win the remaining equivilant games we won last year then that would put us 10 points up on last season's total which would mean a top four placing.
Of course injuries need to be kept to a minimum but our cover so far for the injuries we have had has proven more than adequate although I would worry if we lost Dobson, who I know would be replaced at seven by Murrell, or the likes of Galea and Newton (both of whom we were without for long periods last term).
If all things were equal which as we all know doesn't often happen in this game then I reckon it's within this close knit side's capabilities to win 10 of their remaining 13 games which would give us 41 points and that would leave us very close to the top of the pile come September.
Just as an aside. I was talking to a senior player in the squad on Saturday and he did say they fear no one in the league now and given the high confidence and tightness of the squad he cannot see where the next defeat will come from.
Brave words I know but nice to hear that sort of confidence abounds.
I think you are arguably a top four side behind Leeds and Saints and real close to warrington now Smith has sorted out the baggage there.
Although something I will say is that it is like a breath of fresh air in SL to have KR up there and you supporters are pretty realistic in your chances, so just keep and enjoying the experience of being where you currently at!!
