From where I saw it, although I lost sight of the last part of the move, it looked to me that Fox used his shoulder, which I thought was ok. If he pushed or tripped him after I lost sight of it all, then no, penalty, and if he could get to the ball, then penalty try.

I'M SURE THERE IS NO CORRELATION BETWEEN THE FACT THAT THE FRONT RUNNERS FOR THE 2009 MEDIA WHINGING AWARD ARE FROM GATESHEAD AND HULL FC, FORMERLY THE B*ST*RD-TWINS OF ONE OF RUGBY LEAGUE'S LOUSIER IDEAS.
From the east stand i was on the 30m near the north stand, it looked a penalty but i could not say 100% that he would have scored a try because of the other factors such as briscoe. Prob the correct call by the reff

I think hewer wasn't going to give anything as he was moving to give a drop out, only after talking to the boy linesman did he give a penalty, which I think was the correct decision as you could not say with certainty that dixon would have got there first and fox changed his line to push dixon of the pitch.

I was in the well right on the 20m line, If there had been a video ref it would have been a penalty to Rovers, everyone of the Cas players on the East side were infront of the kicker, everone around me called for it, Should imagine if the recording of the incident is a wide enough angle it will prove this, for what its worth, when he never gave the offside I thought he was going to award a penalty try, especially after consulting with the linesman.

The issue is whether the Castleford player would have scored if the offence had not happened.
A penalty try can be awarded if in the opinion of the referee a try would have been scored.
From the Roger Millward stand it did look like a penalty try was a distinct possibility.
The East Standers would have had a much closer view albeit for some of them through one eye. It will be interesting to see a video of the incident.
Even so the only opinion that counts is the referee's. He gave it our way. End of.
I think the ref got it wrong, it should have been a 20m re-start.

with regards to the "shoulder to shoulder" yes you can, but not when you change the line your running in to take him off the ball. I thought he was going to give a penalty try at the time, but i was on the half way line right at the top in east stand so couldnt see it as much as some of you... didnt even realise Superman was anywere near the play.
