He is a real referee and it isn't the first time he's done it recently, you don't have to have a match fit ref to sit in the box and the Aussies have shown with Hollywood doing loads of VR gigs.

v Wakefield - Thaler
v St Helens - Ganson

All home town refs in the middle...
