i'd sign longy on a 2yr deal any day and on top money! you sign players like Sean Long for whats between the ears not for his speed over 100yds. He may be getting old and slower but he can still come up with the winning plays to win you games and trophies. Give him a 2yr playing contract and give him a coaching role for the play makers at the club!

Transfer fees:
Real Madrid do it!
Manchester United do it!
now the Huddersfield Giants do it!

Sign of the times people, things change!

Ideal in theory

But as I said, he is clearly not motivated to leave saints or play elsewhere

and with an ageing body (and lack of motivation) the rates of injury scream up.

If the club he is at wont give him 2 years, then that must speak volumes to everyone else.

Look at Paul Reilly coming to us for a prime example. A Huddersfield player through and through really who did not really want to leave you. Came to us and was nowhere near the player he was for Huddersfield.

I think it's always tough when you've been at one club for so long to motivate yourself to play for one of their rivals when in your mind you would rather stay where you are.

i'm undecided - yes he can still turn it on when he wants but he isn't half the player he was 2 or 3 years ago and he's knocking on - if we can get him without paying top dollar for him then maybe ...remember how good robbie paul was before we signed him?

robbie still performing and he is helping myler come on, just being in the background is good enough, broughy is a dynamite player handle him well and and he will explode when you went him , treat him with content and the explosion will be within your team, long is reaching his career end but still could give another two years

I personally don't want a player in our side who needs to be mollycoddled. Nor do I want a player who would prefer to be somewhere else. That's why I'm not really keen on either Brough or Long. I also think Robbie Paul's professionalism is something that neither Brough or Long can compare with.

neither of them would want mollycoddling in fact they would enhance your team, both players are verbal and demand team players to get into play, you need a commander in the middle

I don't know snowie. The impression that I get is that Brough wants to be Mr Bigshot. He has a form sheet as long as your arm. I just don't fancy him.
