History repeating itself, in 2004/5 Forlan scored a hat-trick in his penultimate game to overhaul Eto and become pichichi. I don't think I've ever seen a harder working striker, it's just a shame he misses easier chances so often because he'd have about 50 if he could put sitters away!
Anyway it is all set up for Atlético lose at home to Almeria and miss out on the CL!
At the bottom Numancia and Recreativo are relegated, with one of Valladolid, Getafe, Betis, Sporting or Osasuna to follow....

Despite Sporting Gijon being appalling, they'll get out of it. Osasuna have Real Madrid at home while Gijon have Recreativo. Betis have Valladolid at home and judging by Valladolid's form, Betis could win that as well.
I must admit after they sacked Aguirre I didn't see Atleti making top four - hats off to them. Buy some defenders this summer though, for christ's sake.
Lets see if Survival Sunday, or maybe something like 'El Domingo de descenso' in Spain is more exciting.
Interestingly, if Real Betis lose 1-0 against Valladolid, Getafe lose 3-1 at Racing and Sporting and Osasuna both win, Betis and Getafe will have exactly the same record. Having drawn against each other twice in the league, in this scenario a playoff at a neutral venue would decide who was relegated.
Not a massive chance of it happening, but the possibility is there all the same.
