He did ask if he could pick himself in every position but I put my foot down!
Anyway this is Alex Murphy's Dream Team - and I've got to say it's a cracker.
1 David Eckersley
2 Des Drummond
3 Gordon Lewis
4 Trevor Allen
5 Joe Walsh
6 John Woods
7 Alex Murphy
8 Dave Chisnall
9 Kevin Ashcroft
10 Stan Owen
11 Mick Marytn
12 Tommy Martyn (Snr
13 Peter Foster
14 Jeff Clarkson
15 Charlie Pawsey
16 Jimmy Ledgard
17 Bev Risman
Coach: Alex Murphy (naturally)
These players also get an honourable mention:
Mick Collins (very unlucky to miss out)
Peter Smethurst (would lay down his life and never took a backward step)
Alf Wilkinson (strong forward, good player)
Derek Pyke (great pair of hands, great football player)
Stuart Ferguson (could play centre, full back, wing and a magnificent goal kicker)
Also Steve Donlan, Terry Bilsbury and Mick Hogan.
Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play. It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfulness, disregard of all rules and sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence. In other words, it is war minus the shooting. George Orwell

Yep they were definitely first in line for the ugly bus, but I wish we had a couple like 'em today!

Oops sorry, my mistake - I don't know how I managed to put Trevor, of course it's Peter.
I'm glad one of us is awake.
