But, at the moment, the season ticket waiting list is huge and they have to be looking at removing everyone off it, ie the possibility of giving everyone who wants a season ticket the option to buy one.
Therefore, with a capacity currently at just over 44,000, with season ticket holders at around 28,000 (the max they will currently allow) then you must be looking at a capacity over 60,000.
The club initial made plans for 60,000, but since the Yanks came in, they changed the plans and said they wanted a stadium that was 70,000 or above. Problem is, they only have permission to build a stadium that is 60,000 capacity due to the infrastructure so somewhere along the lines they will have to apply for planning permission for anywhere above 60,000.
Will they fill it? For League games and Champions League games they probably will. As for Cup games, who knows.
