yes they did stay over night....in preston....and guess what.......they won....18-24....yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
try scorers...Matt Thomas 1 try John Paxton 1 try...Oliver Fountain 2 tries..Thorman kicked all 4 goals...........

well done lads..long time coming...just keep believing in yourselves.

John and Matt scored the first tries of the match, but Workington came back strong and went into the lead with 3 quick tries...after half time the rain came down and skolars were having to run into it, but with some great passing, and support play, Oliver got 2 tries in the 2nd half. The lads worked hard in defence.....pictures to follow.

again well done..and i bet it was a much happy coach journey home.

Well done boys!

The return journey home was spoilt by the coach breaking down not once but twice! The reality of it all players were back at work this morning after a few hours sleep, not good for man nor beast whichever way you look at it.
I sincerely hope those who did travel on the coach get the rewards they deserve and the recognition for all the hard work they put into the game. Lets also hope this is the first of many and not viewed by the Workington supporters as "Worky didnt play well" or rather "how well Skolars played to win"....knew it was coming, well done Callum and the boys

i went to the game and can say that workington did not play well, but skolars did what they had to to win. they had some good sets going, their ball handling and passing was better than normal. we did not have a big pack, tony williams worked his heart off taking the ball up the middle, but they kept at workington, never giving in, defence on the line was good, the workington tries were caused by silly errors by skolars. the skolars players came out in the second half to driving rain, but seemed to play much better rugby...the pairings of olu and paxton and matty t and oliver fountain worked really well. andre vine, gareth honour played well and paul thorman had a great game. cory sims was ducking and dodging all over the place.
It doesnt matter what the workington fans say about the game....and they were pretty vocal about the game.....skolars lads deserved the win, lets hope that this has lifted them to play and win. shame about the coach trip...but it could have been worse if they had lost!!!!

Cent3- your reports give more of insight of the games than any other report on the club website.

I am glad the boys won however now the hard work begins all over again. As long as they improve from when they start the season, then the future can start to look abit brighter.

Is it true that dave ellison has left the club? Also where is Bobby Wallis?
