The simple fact is City have a Championship team becasue like Derby they came up way before their time was due - The fact we spent exactly half what Stoke spent speaks volumes for the place we are in the league
We have had our chances to stay up and blow them; still just being in the premiership was a bonus
City will be a big team in the Championship now with a few quid to spend so next season should be interesting

What, you would rather them stay down
I went to Goodison to see them play Everton and afterwards in the pub the Everton fans where saying its the worst side they have seen at Goodison in a long time, I also formed the opinion that day they would get relegated. Hope I am wrong, but they have a manager who does not think like a premiership manager (hence half the signings).

City had a few quid to spend this year (approx £60m) and still can't win a thing. Looks like the players can't be bothered and the response of Brown after every defeat is "Well, we look forward to playing team "x" next week when it will be another crucial match with 3 points on offer." It's like groundhog day at the minute.
If you believe City will flourish in the championship, then take your blinkers off and look at Charlton, Southampton, Leicester, Coventry, Nttm Forest and all those other teams relagated from the Prem in the last 10 years. Not exactly romping it, are they.
Plus, all the other teams in the C'ship will perceive City as a scalp next season, and will raise their games making it very difficult for them.
Anyway, why the hell I am debating soccer on a RL forum. Surely there is another more suitable forum for this?

I'm really hoping the cartoon army stay where they are! (in the relegation zone)

Thats what i am saying; we had the same amount to spend as Stoke but didn't - and that is why we are in the relegation zone now
Those teams you mentioned all have gone down hill since being relegated from the Premiership but all of them in their first season did well: ie Southapton in the Play-offs and Charlton just finishing outside last season
