Would just like to let folk know what a big suprise the "TEAM" did for my mum yesterday.
My mum has been an avid supporter of The Reds for many years, but sadly, now at 96 years old & having to succumb to going into residential care, is not able to make the games which she misses immensly. John wilkinson asks about her welfare on a regular basis & I told him that she really misses watching the Reds.
After having a great win at Batley John took time out to detour to where my mum resides,The Fountains Residential Home, in Swinton & proceeded to give my mum a personal visit from the Salford Reds Team who had played at that game. Everyone from the chairman, coach, players, doctor, physio all trooped off the club coach to give her a massive surprise.
My mum remembers the winning team of 1938 parading the cup around Salford & said she would love to see that happen again.
Just thought I would share that great moment with you all, as I don't think there would be many Chairman & team take time out after a gruelling game to do that. The look on my mums face was something I will remember, all the players were so courteous to her.
John also took time to speak to all the other residents aswell, which they all enjoyed.
A very, very big thanks from me to all at Salford Reds
