Some of it was beyond their control I accept, they hung on for Campbell who as we know was used as a incentive for another deal to go through, but because of this they were left high and dry and plumped for Cousin, who is not a premiership footballer by ability. How much do City need someone like Kevin Phillips in these last three games, a player they could have signed but declined the chance, but although I appreciate age is against him, he'd poach a goal or two, more than the likes of Cousin, Windass and co.
The weakness of their strike force though is there for all to see, which makes their recruitment attempts in january all the more shocking. Their naivity at the top level has totally overwhelmed the club and a points total of twelve from a possible seventy two says it all
