But you don't have (because they don't exist) links to back up your initial claim.

The Club have stated that 2009 is being treated as year 1 in a 3 year campaign to get more people to games. Our older brothers in the Union office are supposedly going to help out once the Union season is over and we now have a new General Manager who is tasked with sorting out the attendance figures. I know of 3 schemes that will be up and running soon that are designed to attract new fans.
That said, in the 7 years I have followed the club, I have banged on about the need to speculate to accumelate.......and the times that money has been spent on marketing we have seen bigger crowds...but the club do not have the funds in place for big time marketing.
The Media (and let's face it, they are all London Lovies educated at Oxbridge) have no interest in covering League. The BBC didn't mention MM on their Saturday morning bulletin, but found time to cover Chess Boxing (it is a real sport). The evening papers down here are slaves to Wendyball and the SL Show is still sown down here at 4am.......
Next week, the BBC will get 1,000,000 viewers + for the CC games, but by giving the commentary mike to a flat cap sounding nice person and his little welsh mate they simply underline the perception of League as a northern game.
In short, the answer to your question is no....we will not see bigger crowds in TW2 this year, but I believe we will be near the 5,000 average by 2011.
Lastly, we don't average 2,000...it's actually 3,342 so far this season which is still p1ss poor and needs sorting out.

Harlequins have in the past attracted decent crowds, and I'm sure they will again with the correct promotion and encouragement in and around the London area.

After near on thirty years of spreading the word in the south, I think the club deserves some recognition rather than much of the ridicule they receive from some. The spin off of Harlequins, Bronco's, Crusaders, Fulham has been an introduction of RL into the schools across the region and a decent amature set up along with London Skolars, another team that doesn't get half the recognition it deserves.

DANNY LOCKWOOD - LEAGUE WEEKLY (18-5-09)

I'M SURE THERE IS NO CORRELATION BETWEEN THE FACT THAT THE FRONT RUNNERS FOR THE 2009 MEDIA WHINGING AWARD ARE FROM GATESHEAD AND HULL FC, FORMERLY THE B*ST*RD-TWINS OF ONE OF RUGBY LEAGUE'S LOUSIER IDEAS.
