I know its journalists opinion but i think hes got a point. The artical in the telegraph claims that saturday night time slots are killing the sharks crowds and thus the club. Matty Johns also made a comment about this on the footy show a fortnight ago, about how the fans had come out in force for saturday afternoon games on ANZAC day.

There is an obvious difference in day and night crowds at practically every team in sydney and beyond, so does the NRL need look at making night games the exception every week rather than the rule when the TV deals are up for negotiation. Secondly, will the broadcasters even listen to them if they want it?

A way to give every team more afternoon kickoffs is to simply have more teams in the comp, so roll on the expansion.

I actually noticed the Sharks had harsh kickoff times in every game and posted about it in the NRL crowds topic a few weeks ago. looks like the telegraph stole my story! lol

winning like never before. decoys. mouse traps. chicken wings. lollie pops. shepperds. the crusher. grapples. big league. In 1935 The Dragon Slayers as they were known defeated Canterbury bulldogs 91-6, which is still the biggest win in the Club's History. In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. References were found at the time to district teams being called 'The Saints'.the perfect 11

Bring back the Reds, we could kick off at 6pm WA time on a Saturday (favoured time for RL fans in Perth) and the Eastern states would have a 8pm live game every other week.

2 games Fri night (1qlnd, 1 NSW)
3pm, 5pm and (Reds every other week) 8pm Sat
3 3pm Sunday kick offs and 1 5pm Sunday
1 Monday night game

TV gets 7 live games and the rights can be packaged

Grade A package = Fri night games + blockbuster sunday 3pm game live
Grade B package = 2 live Sat, 1 live Sun 5pm game
Grade C package = 1 live Sat, Sunday delayed and Monday night live
Rep package= SOO, CvC & International RL.

Should bring in a heck of alot more than current deal

WEST COAST PIRATES
NRL expansion? Sometime soon, maybe......

do the nrl have any say at the minute for the times games are scheduled or is all the broadcasters?

they should try and get at least one sat afternoon game and one sunday afternoon game in sydney a week

i think JB has hit the nail on the head with whats needed, and the Reds would help with the TV contract giving it a more "national feel"

TV compaies pick each game up to 5 weeks ahead.

Channel 9 get to pick the first 2 games then Foxtel the next 3 then back to nine and so forth

broadcasters pick which games they show when but clubs do have some input
