Criticism of Floyd Mayweather Snr is a joke TBH.

Emanuel Steward stated that Mayweather Snr is the greatest defensive coach in boxing history and this has been proved by his son. Even De La Hoya said Floyd Snr is a superior coach to Roach and as a pair, they were undefeated until Hopkins beat him with a body-shot.

Mayweather Snr said the game plan was "smart pressure" but Hatton went out and boxed without using his brain.

I'm as disappointed as everyone else cos I'm a massive Ricky Hatton fan but people have to wake up and smell the coffee - if Mayweather Snr had Hatton since the begining of his career, then he'd probably be the number one fighter in the world but he stuck with Billy Graham and maybe he's now proving his limitations.

On the same note, I fear this may be Froch's undoing in terms of being the number one middle/super-middle/light-heavy weight in the world because Froch's success seems to have been based on having a granite chin and punching harder than anyone else. I just feel he may be prone to a points loss if he doesn't catch them before the 12 rounds are up.

Disagree. Mayweather Jnr and Pacquio's success is down to having quality trainers early enough in their careers.

Reading in the press etc I am quite amazed at what some people say.

He has lost ONLY 2 fights that IMO is a great record.

No one's disputing the superiority of FJM Jnr or Pacquiao.

That said, if Hatton had been clever he would have done much better against both.

Yeah, he'd still most likely still have lost, but he wouldn't have been embarrassed.

Mayweather's time keeping was a contributing factor to the manner in which Hatton lost.

Hatton looked seriously p*ssed off both at the weigh in and on entrance to the ring. For FJM Snr to turn up late on fight night was catastrophic to Hatton's chances.

How difficult would it have been for Hatton to go out and execute a plan that was against his natural style when he was p*ssed off with the bloke who was giving him the orders?



Mayweather's ego is too large for Hatton. They are poles apart in terms of personality, and personally, I don't think it could have worked over the years.

If Roach on the other hand had trained Hatton since day one, Britain could well have produced one of the greatest boxers of all time in Hatton.



For the record, regardless of how Hatton boxed on Saturday, I think with hindsight he would have been undone by Pacquiao's hand speed, but that doesn't mean Senior can't be partly responsible for the loss.

Mayweather turned up 1hour maybe less before the fight and Hatton always looked p!ssed off when he was about.

It is a great record but the Two fights he has lost he has been totally outclassed by his opposition, There isn't anything left out there for Ricky Hatton the boxer now all he could possibly do is tarnish his reputation, He was a fantastic boxer but unfortunately against the sports elite he has been found out...

Theres a vid on youtube of him calling Hatton out. Only reason Hatton don't want the fight is because he does not want Witter to get a big pay day.
