Shame they weren't two-way during the Cas-Hull game tbh

I bought one. Thought they were excellent for the games that didn't involve your team. Listening to the commentary kept you a little bit more engaged forgive the pun.

Also listening to the ref during your own game is both interesting and infuriating. As they can be used at both the challenge cup final and the grand final they are well worth the money.

Now The Wire.

I thought it was a great idea. It made "wtf" decisions clearer instantly and i thought it was really interesting. Also gave a few laughs at times as well. It was a bit odd when the ref was talking to another official as it appeared he was talking to himself.

They can be used at the Grand final, Challenge Cup and the internationals so plenty value for the £5 even if you need to replace the battery.

Well worth the fiver I paid. It left me feeling less frustrated with the Refs decisions as you could hear the calls such as warning to players before eventually giving a penalty,

I didn't listen to the Sky commentary because I can barely endure it when at home.

Additionally what was with the 'This is a message from the RFL' messages? I was quick to switch off after each game because they did my head in.

Basically gave you some info that you otherwise wouldn't have know, like they could be used at Old Trafford and Wembley, how to turn it off properly and stuff like that, just to fill in the dead air time.

The ref's mic should be an option on the Sky live games, some of the ref's were quite funny.

I presume this is acheived by having a local broadcast on a 'public' FM frequency, so in theory the radios are just small FM radio receivers ?

In that case, the brodcasts should be available to be picked up by other conventional FM radios too ? (Most modern mobiles have an FM Radio on there somewhere)

In which case, anyone know the frequency to tune in on (not to mention saving a fiver) ?

Yup

Nope, they are broadcast on a channel below what a normal FM radio can get, the instructions say the scan starts at 60MHz so I would expect them to be broadcasting on something like 65-70MHz.
