This is more than likely the reason for different responses, constructive comments get you further than verbally attacking a player. He plays rugby because he is passionate about it, not for the money that everyone seems to think all the players are earning. I can honestly say I have never been to a ground were the fans are so critical of their players...take a step back for a moment because you all should be ashamed of yourselves
Let's get this in perspective here, the 'idiotic person' you refer to is me. So before you go round making assumptions as to the content you should get your facts straight. I simply told him in response to his public facebook statements about not wanting to be at the club, that he should pack his bags and leave. I shouldn't have said anything in hindsight but the whole weekend performance on top of those statements has angered me. I suggest you go back to your own board and stop commenting on stuff you know nothing about.
As it happens I had quite an interesting discussion with Loz following that. He also said that comments made on message boards were extremely distracting for the players and the fans attitude is having an effect. I said he and the players shouldn't be reading the forums and concentrate on their own game. He also claims that Widnes is a great club and that he will put in 100% every time. He also finds it ridiculous that Cullen is getting so much stick so soon into the job. He's sacrificing a lot to play for Widnes apparently, days off work, time away from family etc.. He's far from perfect, particularly as he is by his own admission hot headed. However he seems an honest player who wants to succeed and wants the club to succeed.
On that note, I'm going to refrain from reading some of the bullshit on here and other forums and inflaming it further with my own angered posts. I suggest others do the same and that posts slating individual players are removed, including posts about sacking players. I think some of us (myself included) need to realise the damage the constant barrage of non-constructive criticism and abuse is going to cause between us and the players who clearly have issues of their own they need to sort as a team.
If you've got nothing positive to say. Bite your tongue and don't say anything. Players do read these forums whether they should be or not and it really isn't going to help them this season if the abuse keeps up.[/img]

I understand to an extent with what your saying.. but in all honesty can you really single Loz out for criticism for his performances. I've seen all games this year with the exception of Oldham (in which I believe he had a stinker) and Doncaster. In all other games I don't think that you could say he has been sulking about being played out of position or that he has underperformed.
It's hardly like he has thrown a wobbly like Smith about being played at Loose when Beswick had a stint at Hooker.. He hasn't simply decided he doesn't want to play and gone missing like Moule. He can hardly be put in the same bracket as Emilio and friends for not trying.
The facebook posts are unfortunate but I can to an extent understand why.. People were horrified by the reaction of some fans after the Halifax games..'I'd like to see them go and say those things to their faces'.. 'very brave of them to say it from the terraces' etc etc.. why then should we be surprised if the players were upset.
I haven't singled him out for his performances. If you read my posts you'll see that I said he was a good player. He effectively singled himself out, by what wrote on Facebook.
Therefore, I singled out his attitude. I also pointed out how easy it would be for him to leave Widnes if he doesn't wish to be here. At the end of the day, he brought this on himself. Hopefully he'll knuckle down now and concentrate on using his obvious talent to further his own goals and that of our club, and stop moaning on Facebook.

Little Pepe went to nursery school one day wearing his Widnes hat. His teacher asked him why he was a Widnes fan. He said, “Because my parents are.” His teacher said, “That’s not good. What would you do if your parents were drug dealers and hookers?” He replied, “Well then I would be a Warrington fan.”
There's a Wooly over there, baggy kecks and feathered hair with a 3 star jumper half way up his back, that’s a fecking Wooly back! Oooh-to… Oooh-to-be… Oooh-to-be-a… WOOLY!

Bandito
Loz only has himself to blame. If he didn't go spouting off on Facebook this thread would not be here.
Yes, he may not like the opinions of some fans, but we have about 4,000 of them, all with different views. Some knowledgeable and some not. None of them will be a proffessional within the sport at, any level, and will therefore lack a professional duty to hold back.
Loz does. That's the way it is.
If he knuckles down and plays well and with discipline, the fans will get behind him. If he goes on Facebook moaning.......

Pack your bags and shut the door on your way out then. You're your discipline is pathetic and you and the rest of that amateur shower of poop have brought shame on my team.
And in response to him i also wrote..
Quote:So when you're publicly posting on your facebook page you don't want to be at Widnes any more what do you expect the fans to say? Granted the atmosphere is utter poop at the stadium and we have a fair share of idiot fans but you will find idiot fans anywhere you go. As it happens I've been very patient this season, the only reason why I messaged you was simply because you've publicly stated you want out!! What else is a fan supposed to think with an attitude like that?? What fan wants a player at their club who makes it clear they don't want to be here?
You have to learn to take the rough with the smooth when it comes to criticism, isn't that what being a professional is all about? For every criticism I've read about you I've also read a lot a positives. I've stuck up for the team unswervingly this season up until last night and what I saw on that field was heartbreaking to watch.
We may well be up in the stands but something looked very wrong out there last night. Barrow showed us exactly what a tight unit, operating as a team with enthusiasm can do. We look lost.
I'm far from being one of the ignorants you claim I am. You claim that fans views on message boards means 'love all' yet at the same time claim that those very same comments are proving a huge distraction? Which is it to be? You'd be best off not even reading the tripe that people put on those boards (because 99% of it is tripe) at all and concentrating on your own game. Same goes for any other player who feels like this.
Cullen has my backing and deserves a hell of a lot longer than 2 months to prove himself, any fool with half a brain can see that. Unfortunately, as with every club we've got plenty of fools with less than half a brain.
You're clearly a passionate person when it comes to rugby so I'll let your threats towards me and insults towards the club go, though to tell me to carry on paying your wages like an idiot does not do you any favours. I'll happily come and say any of this to any ones face any time.
If you do decide to stay at Widnes then I'll happily lend my support as I have done for 20 years, but if you don't want to be here then only you can do something about it. But like you who gets angered when fans slate you, I get angered when players publicly slate the opportunity they've been given to play for us.
On that note I wish you all the best whatever you decide to do.
Funny how you've conveniently not mentioned that one..

Isnt it weird that Loz is the only chap we can communicate with from the club he's honest and i like that and he does sound like he wears his heart on his sleeve so i to take my comment back. It would be better if we could get him on a full time contract as im sure it was mentioned earlier in the season that once his work commitments finished he could join us FT?
